JAN'S PAGE
Croeso! Welcome
to my page. I'm mum to the 'creatives', plain and simple, and that's enough
creativity to last a lifetime as any other mum
will
agree! Much of my working life has been involved in accountancy in one way or
other but now I am retired and live in one of the most spectacularly beautiful
parts of the country. Every time I open my back door and see the ever changing
colours of the mountains, or drive down the heavily wooded valley to the shops
on the coast, I think about how lucky I am to live here.
Apart from domestic duties, much of my day is taken up with my garden when it is
not raining. And we do, on occasion, get a great deal of rain
on this western coast of Wales which is probably why everything here is so green
and lush and the granite escarpments suddenly burst white with frothing springs.
The garden is about an acre and is mainly grass and an abundance of trees and
shrubs including Rhododendrons and Azaleas and has a pretty stream with ponds
running through the
middle. I gave up on many of the smaller flowers and vegetable as the only thing
to benefit and get fat was the large family of rabbits that took up
residence here. The summer months are always doubly busy with the three
grandchildren Jessica, Tamara and Jonathan visiting from the West Country, where
they live with their
parents. I have in the past, enjoyed sewing and my aim this year is to make a
quilt which might become a family heirloom (show my creative hubby and
off-springs how to do it!).
The often overcast winter months are occupied with swimming, walking in the
mountains and developing my Welsh language skills.
